Meet Penelope & Winston, Sydney’s Classic London Taxis Transport available for your next event, wedding, and more!

Penelope & Winston are a matching pair of Austin FX4s, better known as the iconic London Taxi. With less than 30 Austin FX4s operating in Australia, they are a rare sight in the Sydney landscape. Our cars, manufactured in 1964 and 1968, have spent the majority of their lives in Australia and thus avoided the rigors of normal taxi life.

Both cars feature rear opening passenger doors and a spacious cabin with face-to-face seating. Penelope, our 1968 car, can seat five passengers, while Winston can seat six. Both cars feature custom air conditioning units and unique period features.

The London Taxi is a cultural and automotive icon known the world over.

  • Absolutely. You can view our vehicles by appointment at our Bass Hill, NSW location.

  • While our cars are maintained to the highest standard, there is always the possibility of mechanical issues with any car of this vintage. In the event your vehicle breaks down during your hire, we will reimburse you the for uber service to your location. Conditions apply.

  • Yes, both cars feature custom made air conditioning units.

  • These cars were designed to drive around the busy streets of London in the 1960s, not so much the modern freeway system we’re all used to. The only consideration you should be aware of is that the top speed of the vehicles is limited to 75kph so you’ll need to factor that in to your transit times.

  • Our taxis can accomodate roughly 3 standard sized suitcases.

  • Overtime is charged in 15-minute blocks.
